AY&B Epoxy Aluminium Primer

Altex Yacht & Boat Epoxy Aluminium Primer is a two component primer utilising state of the art chromate anti-corrosive technology designed for use on aluminium structures, plate and extrusions and galvanised substrates.

Altex Yacht & Boat Paint Epoxy Barrier Undercoat is a high performance, sandable epoxy high build coating which is both very corrosion and water resistant.

Epoxy Barrier Undercoat is recommended for:

  • Topside & Superstructure final sealing to provide an optimum surface for finish coating
  • As a high build surfacer to remove defects and achieve a finish suitable for application of Altex Polyurethane Undercoat or one of the Elite Polyurethane finish coats
  • As a high build barrier coat for below waterline application, used as part of an Altex Antifouling system

AY&B Epoxy High Build Surfacer

Recommended Uses

Altex Yacht & Boat Epoxy High Build Surfacer is a two component new technology high build epoxy surfacer and profiling compound.

Altex Epoxy High Build Surfacer is designed to fill and profile minor imperfections such as found on epoxy glass lay-ups, sanded epoxy fairing compounds, and repair sites on damaged structures.

The recommended maximum dry film thickness per coat is 0.5mm (500 microns).

Altex Epoxy High Build Surfacer may be applied by spray or squeegee, or a combination of both.

AY&B No.5 Antifouling

Altex No.5 Antifouling is recommended:

  • Where multi-season effective fouling protection is needed
  • Where regulations ban or restrict the use of organotin compounds
  • On yachts, tenders, dinghies, trailer yachts and power boats

Altex No.5 Antifouling is:

  • Compatible over other copper based anti-foulings, where recommended preparation is achieved
  • Not suitable for use on aluminium craft, outboard motors, sail drives or stern legs
  • Suitable and recommended for use on primed GRP, gelcoat, steel, timber and ferro-cement craft

Note: Because ablative antifoulings work by slowly wearing away to expose fresh biocides, the amount of product applied has a direct bearing on system life.

PrimaShield Antifouling Sealer is a quick drying, general purpose, below waterline primer designed to provide both exceptional water barrier and tie coat properties to a large range of substrates prior to applying antifouling

PrimaShield Antifouling Sealer is used on the following substrates:
